CISCO Exam- Some Details About It

CISCO Exam is a certification examination conducted by CISCO for its network and communication technology. CISCO Systems Incorporation is an American multi national company. The company designs and sells products related to networks and communication technology. CISCO provides services under four brands-CISCO, WebEx, Scientific Atlanta and Linksys. CISCO was earlier in to multi protocol router selling but now sells a number of products in the market.

CISCO exams are conducted by Pearson VUE. Associate, Professional and Expert are the three certification levels for the course. In the three, Associate is the most elementary level of certification whereas Expert level, as the name suggests, means that you are now ready to be certified as an expert. Associate Level CISCO Certification Exam: The first stage in CISCO Certification is the Associate Level. It begins either with CCENT or directly begins with CCNA and CCDA certification exams. CCENT is an abbreviated term for CISCO Certified Entry Network Technician and is a certified exam to validate an individuals skills required at the elementary network level. In this CISCO Exam the candidate has to give test on how to install, operate and troubleshoot a small network. The exam is also designed to examine some basic network security skills of the individual. CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) examination, on the other hand, tests the similar skills of an individual but for medium to large size networks. An individual has an option to either pass the exam as a single CCNA test or as two different tests called Intro and ICND. The CCNA certificate is valid for three years and then the individual has to retake the CISCO examination in order to get re-certified. CISCO Certified Design Associate (CCDA) exam tests the individuals knowledge in network and communication technology.

Professional Level CISCO Certification Exam: This examination is made up of a number of certification examinations. CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP) exam judges an individual's capability to work for medium- size networks and how familiar the individual is with technologies such as broadband, VPN and their security features. CISCO Certified Design Professional (CCDP) is an advance certified course for network technologies. CCSP or CISCO Certified Security Professional is an advance course in network securities. CISCO Certified Internetwork Professional (CCIP) covers an individuals capability in end-to-end networks used on a large scale. CCVP, or CISCO Certified Voice Professional, exam covers all the aspects of VOIP and IP network systems and their applications.

Expert Level CISCO Certification Exam: This is the highest degree of certification that tests an individual's capability as an expert. It includes certification exam in inter-networking capabilities, routing, switching, securities etc. This CISCO exam is named as CCIE.

Thus, CISCO Exam is a chain of exams in various communication and network technologies that are designed to test an individuals knowledge in CISCOs own network and communication technology.
